Carrot, Egg, and Coffee
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again. A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asks, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?" Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. "Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?" Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean? May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you (I JUST DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life. If you don't send it, you will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this message! It's easier to build a child than repair an adult. hahax.. i almost forget wad day is today!! its our anniversary wor.. haax.. i still remember wad happened that day clearly.. the day b4.. i was at parkway.. and i saw the chocs she like.. haax.. its the call wad ar.. crapx i know where and how it look like las.. forget the name le.. if i not wrong is 12.45 bucks las.. hahax.. then i wanted to call her to come down and take and have a chat las.. but my phone no batt.. i called gab to tell me the n.o from a public phone and i called her.. i walked to her house from pp and it started to rain.. i still continued my way there.. then later she came down and had a chat and passed her the chocs.. she brought down her jacket too las knowing i will be wet.. then i was quite touched.. the next day i asked her to have lunch at my house las.. she buy over to my house and we ate in my room.. then after eat and she sat on my bed los.. i went over and ask her if ani1 tell her he love her.. and she said no.. then later we walked to pp together from my house.. then kinda hint her that i like her.. when she is there to meet her mum.. i like send her there onli.. on the walk back i sms her that i like her and tats how it came about.. our journet together started this day 2 years ago.. haax.. now its so diff le.. hmmm.. that time she jux finish her promo los for sec 3.. yupx.. 2 years... haax.. jux 2 years.. oh well.. a lot can happen in 2 years.. :)

hahax.. long time never blog le.. cox always no time to.. hmmm.. this few days went to church and now kinda more holy if you wan to say.. haax.. feel much better everytime i go church.. know more things and learn new stuff.. i go to chinese service wor.. cox my aunt all chinese de.. and going to play guitar for the church.. but this week that guy never call me also.. hmmm.. never mind las.. hope can play for the church los.. hmmm.. nothing much to blog about too.. oh ya last fri me si hua jasmine gab and weiliang and both of their gf went to eat steamboat as a kind of gathering.. hahax.. not bad wor.. had fun los.. then we still go play sparklers which is kinda the girls idea.. hahax.. hope can have more of this kind of gathering los.. if not every1 is spliting apart le.. haax.. gotta book in later le.. bored.. think i going to sleep.. see like so ling never blog.. so must blog los.. haix.. let god path my way.. :)

hahax.. went to church today and had some sort of bible study after that.. haax.. the bible study onli got me las.. o0 cox the pastor wan to know me better and see where to put me next time mahx.. so is jux like an exchange with her onli las.. hmm.. she is nanyang girls sch head of gifted programme wor.. she also knew a lot of my st pats teachers las.. wow.. had a good convo with her las.. talk about how god made miricles for her and i share my part too.. :) think i gonna commit to this church las.. pple there seems nice too.. talked to a lot of them but all are like old folks las.. makes me feel old though but is nice talking to them.. haax.. gotta run le.. slept too long le.. dieee...

actualli i wanted to update that weekwnd that she never delete her blog but jux unable to go into the site las.. mayb she is editing or something.. YEAH!!! i think my prayers work.. thank you lord for listening to me and bless her with such good friends to support her and may the holy spirit guild her.. she kinda broke up with that girl i guess and is sad las.. but she has such good friends around her who cheer her up , encourage and support her.. see le also feel happi for her las.. hahax.. even though now we are even more distant apart, i still pray for her everytime los.. haax.. good that she is getting on with her aussie life pretty well now.. haax.. dunno lehx.. feel a kind of relief in my heart after reading her blog.. i knew she broke up with her last weekend.. then jux now in the car i was wondering if she will update her blog not.. or she is sad or not.. hahax.. now think she's okie las.. now she like calling herself liz cox her name is ashley elizibeth ngion mahx.. so liz.. hahax.. hmmm.. took out her pic in my wallet last night las when my friends take my wallet to search every single pocket.. and ask me y the pic still there.. hahax.. then i say take out loh.. haax.. then when i reach home today i found her pic faced down in my shelf?!?! hahax.. my mum kept it there i think.. last week she asking me y dun you put some words of encouragement on your table instead of ashley's pic.. hahax.. wierd mum though.. the ques came out of no where las.. hahax.. caught me.. haax.. gonna see doc later so book out.. hee.. i chao geng lehx.. pro.. d:

hmm.. wierd.. she deleted her blog again or she put password to it.. o0 oh well.. i dunno.. hmmm.. seems like the onli way of knowing her well being is cut off again.. haix.. sianx.. this week has been a bz week for me los.. ytd got njd.. today got njd.. the grandmaster came down and taught us somethings.. hahax.. luo han quan.. he say this is the best of the best.. he teach the stance already more than 30 mins las.. luckily the moves for the quan is little.. if not dunno wad time go home ytd le.. today got the shaolin qi gong thing.. but i decided not to go.. there are more things more important than njd and fighting las.. y wan to fight so well?? hmmm.. cox at night got pizza gathering in camp and i gotta cut hair.. driving also.. so yax.. life is like passing day be day for me.. no end.. hmmm.. later i go out kenna knock down by car than end le.. so yax.. toking about knocking down by car.. one of my platoon mate kenna knock down by bus and then car on fri.. sad lehx.. haven got the chance to visit him.. hmmm.. those who went to visit him ytd said that his head is bandaged and both eyes too.. some fractures.. haix.. the glass cut his right eye and glass shatters in the left.. luckily no harm is done to his sight.. if not realli damn poor thing.. hmmm.. so cross roads must becareful ar.. haix.. see him on fri still ok de los.. he still playing soccer with me las.. crapx.. was kinda shock when the news came.. hmmm.. think he dun need to come back to camp liao las.. down status and mayb mc for like half a year at the minimum.. hmmm.. later going back for the pizza thing.. sianx and tired.. *.*
